We spent the day at Potawatomi State Park on Thursday, and the weather was fantastic! Potawatomi is located just outside of Sturgeon Bay - just over an hour from Green Bay, WI at posted speeds.

We hiked along the Tower Trail and Hemlock trail, for a total of about 6 miles. Hemlock trail is mostly level terrain, and loops through the park showing off a a good variety of what this park has to offer. Continue reading →

We spent the day at Potawatomi State Park on Thursday, and the weather was fantastic! Potawatomi is located just outside of Sturgeon Bay – just over an hour from Green Bay, WI at posted speeds.

We hiked along the Tower Trail and Hemlock trail, for a total of about 6 miles. Hemlock trail is mostly level terrain, and loops through the park showing off a a good variety of what this park has to offer. The breeze from the shore keeps most of the park & trails cooler, which made the hike quite easy. To top it all off, the dragonflies & swallows seem to be doing their job – very few mosquitoes bothered us during the hike.

We saw quite a bit of wildlife in the park, especially deer. A few young bucks, several does and a fawn were around in the park while we hiked, and other hikers mentioned seeing very young fawns as well. There were also Cedar Waxwings, Cardinals, Robins, Common Terns, Pelicans, Swallowtails, Monarchs, Woodpeckers, and other types of birds.

Hopefully pictures will be coming soon!

We’re up in Door County for a week of exploring the five state parks located in the Door Peninsula! So far the weather hasn’t been that cooperative, but should be improving starting today. We’ve got a ton of great shots so far, and it can only get better as the weather improves.
